They came from Inner Space...
In the 1970's the Mego Corporation established itself as a major force in modern toy production. The prolific success of licensing popular film, TV & comic book properties such as Planet of the Apes, Space 1999 & Star Trek spawned various ranges of well crafted 8" action figures which became synonymous with the Mego tag. microclip

In 1976 a deal was cut with Japanese toy giant Takara granting Mego the license to import a line of modular, highly articulated figures known in Japan as 'Microman'. MicroclipMeasuring around 10cm high Microman was actually derived from a larger line of 12" Takara figures known as Henshin Cyborg - now regarded with legendary status - and rightly so! With the license secured the Microman line set sail for US shores where it would eventually appear repackaged under the Mego banner as the Micronauts. microclip Read more about the original Micronauts...
