I LOVE TECHNO!
Techno is the way of every pilgrim finding their way to the Mecca of beats! Other music is good too but techno finds it's way into everything one way or another - and it has so many forms. I even find it rustling round in my cornflakes when I have time to eat breakfast. Even my hamster loves techno!

My obsession began in 1983 when a mate of my Dad's gave me a bootlegged tape of Kraftwerk's Man Machine LP which he'd picked up in the Middle East. It had a Space LP thrown on there too which contained the track Magic Fly. The recording was terrible but I was only 11 & I was blown away by this crazy sound! A year later I was living in Saudi Arabia & I took big advantage of the bootlegs there grabbing most of the Kraftwerk back catalogue for the price of a beer! After that I was checking Isao Tomita & Vangelis in a big way.

The next phase began when I heard Lil Louis' French Kiss, from which point nothing was the same. I was searching for that bright snare sound & those stripped down hats in every track I heard after that. Pure genius!

Next I picked up Serena X by Kenny Larkin (as Yennek) & the door opened further. I'd identified a definitve Detroit sound & I knew I'd struck gold! Hearing the way that sound had travelled through Europe & the world influencing so much & having so many influences - the jigsaw started to fit together.

That's how it began for me & that's why I love it all.
I love techno.
