Coming from an area which the industry labelled as 'intelligent dance music' several years ago Greetings from Tuskan presents
a sound with distinct cues to the visual. Merging soft, broken vocal samples with pensive, slightly
spooky synth motifs & staggered percussion GFT creates an atmospheric listening experience akin to artists like Leila
& D'Arcangelo.
Behind Greetings From Tuskan is Belgian-Vietnamese producer Joëlle Phuong Minh Lê from Brussels. Joëlle has a
background in visual work. She has shot videos for artists such as Deru, Mr.Projectile, Vector Lovers
and Troubleshooter as well as VJing at festivals and events across Europe. Having been inspired by sound and music she
found it a logical conclusion to start producing herself and the result is some very interesting electronica.
Joëlle approaches composition in a similar way to her graphic work. Her debut album can be seen as a colorful canvas
with strokes of melody and splashes of sound, framed in beats and rhythms.
The music comes alive with the inclusion of sounds beyond the purely synthesized - recordings from Joëlle's travels
or samples from closer to home... the little music box that was lying around in your room, washed away by a wave of
white noise and soaring synths.
Lullabies for the Warrirors is available as a CD release & MP3 downoad at the IWARI shop.
A limited 7 inch containing an exclusive track is due to follow the release of the CD. The CD also contains
an official video of the title track produced by Ewo.
